HOUSTON – April 1, 2024 – Cart.com, a leading unified commerce and logistics provider, announced a new acquisition that expands its multi-node network. After supplying customers across the U.S. with streamlined fulfillment and shipping services, it looks toward a new frontier, going where no logistics company has gone before.
Cart.com has acquired a star in the Serpens constellation, located in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd-century astronomer Ptolemy and remains one of the 88 modern constellations designated by the International Astronomical Union. Within Serpens, there are more than 15 stars with known planets. The constellation resides approximately 24,500 light-years away from Earth and Cart.com’s mission control.
The company is positioning itself to deliver intergalactically, from the moon to the International Space Station and beyond, bringing popular products to beings across the universe.
“Cart.com is always forward-thinking, and in our latest efforts we plan on offering our world-class fulfillment operations to a new star system and diverse set of residents,” said Cart.com Founder and CEO Omair Tariq. “Fast shipping is a universal need no matter what galaxy you're in.”
Construction of the new outer space warehouse is expected to be completed in 3034 and will require 32 missions to assemble. Once completed, Cart.com aims to provide 1- to 2-month delivery to nearby planets and spacecraft.
When asked about what’s next, Tariq spoke about furthering galactic investments and completing the Cart.com hex constellation. “We’re looking to acquire additional stars in the Serpens constellation,” he said. “We look forward to creating a multi-node celestial network to complement our Earthbound operations.”
